Clean Bison Burgers with Sundried Tomato!

A cleaner spin on the traditional burger.  My boys and my little girl are big fans of burgers.  We do not eat regular beef really.  If we do it is Grass Fed and we know the source.  Here in Austin we like Southern Traditions Farm.  They have great local grass fed beef and are a very reliable business and farm that we know and trust for great meats.  Bison is a great option for burgers.  They are leaner and therefor cleaner.  We LOVE Italian food seeing that we are from the Northeast Originally (even though my family was born and raised in the south) Before we moved to TX we lived in NJ and Maryland.  My husband grew up in New Jersey.  So naturally I looked for some great Italian burger recipes.  I always put my own little spin on things and here is the final product.  I hope you enjoy it! We LOVED it and my kids and my husband asked for it to be added to the rotation.  I now you could make the same burger with ground turkey, venison, or probably a tofu as well.





Serves:  4

What you Need:


1 lb Lean, Ground Bison
1 TBSP Garlic, minced
½ cup Fresh Parsley, chopped
1 tsp Kosher Salt
1 tsp Black Pepper
¼ cup Parmesan Cheese, grated
1 TBSP Tomato Paste
8 Sun-dried Tomatoes
1 cup Baby Bella Mushrooms
½ cup Spinach
4 Ezekiel Burger Buns


1 TBSP 0% Greek Yogurt
½ tsp Sriracha Hot Sauce

Place the garlic, parsley and Parmesan in the bowl and mix. Add the ground bison, tomato paste, salt and pepper. And combine well so all of the meat is seasoned.  Make four patties and place the on a grill heated to medium. Cook to your desired temp.  While meat is cooking, add the Eziekiel buns and mushrooms to the grill for 5 min. Also, combine Greek yogurt and hot sauce well and set aside. When everything is cooked, build your burger!
