We have all heard Stop, relax, now take a deep breath”. Why because it actually works! Believe me. I do this all the time when I get worked up over things. I turn my back close my eyes and focus on my breathing. A minute later..I feel better. I tell the kids it is mommy’s time out.
Today I want everyone to stop…at some point. Even if it is before you fall asleep and you are laying in bed. Stop and CLEAR your mind and breathe!
How do you do it??
-sit up straight
-place one hand on your abs and the other on your heart
-take deep belly breathes drawing the air in past your chest and deep into your belly. Feel your newly rise and contract.
-breathe in and out through your nose and feel the breathe rasp in the back of your throat as you push it out.
Repeat for at least one minute.
This action increases the oxygen to flow through your body. It clears your body of carbon dioxide. It helps improve circulation, calms your nerves, reduces tension and mental fatigue. It will help your muscles to heal more quickly and massages your internal organs. It aids in digestion and reduces stress.
Give it a try and make it something you do everyday before you get out of bed or even just while you are sitting there at work. Anytime you start to feel stressed or unfocused. It works. I promiseĀ
