Hey Everyone!!! Last week I shared some really exciting News with everyone about my opportunity to help Sports Authority promote their new line of all natural eco-friendly women’s yoga apparel, bloom. I could not be more excited to share with everyone today about my experience with bloom.
I was so incredibly SHOCKED when I got a random email from Sports Authority’s saying that they found me on instagram @laurenmajewski, LOVED the motivational posts that I was creating, and that I was someone that they felt embodied what their clothing line was about. After a few emails and research (to make sure it was legit), I spoke on the phone with them and came up with a concept. I was so excited. I kept thinking, “WOW! They want me to help them? Why Me out of all these AMAZING yoga and fitness pages on instagram?” But I was honored and overjoyed that they choose me to be a part of their team. I have always had a really hard time accepting recognition and with feeling like I am worthy of certain things. I work hard to achieve certain things that recognition naturally comes with but I am a very humble person. At times, I do not realize the impact that such small actions can have on someone else’s life and mine as well…like posting a few pictures to instagram with a few motivational words. I rarely get comments and sometimes I even wonder if other people see it or if it motivates and inspires them as much as it did for me. I love to find things to share that inspire and motivate me in hopes that it will help someone in some way in their life.
I just kept thinking, “They found me on instagram”? I had just started to work on building my instagram page. It is really just a place for me to share my thoughts and a bit of my life with other people hoping to inspire them to just be who they are, embrace life, make changes if they want a change, and to live happy and more fulfilled lives…in a healthy way. I wanted to show people that I am just a normal everyday mom who does her best to lead a healthy lifestyle and set a good example for her kids. This is not limited to just exercise and clean eating. For me it embodies the mind, the body, and the soul. It is a package deal, lol.
They sent me the clothing and I LOVED it!! The material felt amazing. My first thought was about how soft the material was and how I couldn’t wait to move in it. They also sent me some info about the clothing as well as a sweet handwritten note thanking me for being a part of the product launch. Of course the clothing was super soft….It was made of eco friendly fabrics blended with recycled yarn, organic cotton or rayon made from bamboo. They designed the clothing to fit women who enjoy being connected to the outdoors which, clearly, I do. My soul craves the water. I need to be near it. I thrive when I am near the water. You could see how they were tying in the sense of nature and Earth’s beauty into the clothing through the prints, the colors, and the feel.
This plum purple sweater is something that I have worn multiple times already and am in love with. I love the way it feels. It is incredibly soft. One of my favorites for sure. I could curl up in this on the couch, wear it out as a cover up, or wear it to the studio. My husband really loves it as well. He says he likes how it fits and that I wear it well. That’s always a plus.
I loved the tank tops. The turquoise top was my fav. They sent it to me in a beautiful plum purple as well. It was so bright and I loved the crisscross straps in the back. Very stylish and it adds a little flare to the top. Nothing ever fits me straight off the rack and shirts like this are usually to tight in the top or too loose in the waist. I had to try it on to see how it all fit. I was so excited when it all was so nicely fitted in both areas. I didn’t feel like my “girls” would fall out and the waist fit well. Not too tight but not too lose. The back of the crisscross tanks have a little inverted pleat to give you just enough material to allow it to flow loosely. It also added a bit of style to the already fun back. I just needed to go practice to really test it out. I went and did a few sun salutations and a few flow sequences. I then started working on some poses. The shirts were really easy to move and flow in. Inversion poses were a bit difficult to keep the shirts down so I just tucked in the front. I think that is to be expected in most flowy tops.
I was a HUGE fan of the pants. If I am being honest…I am more of a fitted pant/legging kind of girl so I preferred the shorter crop pants for actual yoga practice and the long pants as more of my mommy yoga pants comfort, for everyday wear. This is just my opinion. As a Redskins Cheerleader, we were given these super comfy Everlast yoga pants back in 2004. They were stretchy and fitted with a flare bootcut bottom. I loved them so much that I would stitch them up time after time and still wear them even though they are old and falling apart. LOL. You can’t find or buy them anywhere. These long pants from the bloom line are so similar but even BETTER because they are more soft and comfortable. I think I can finally say goodbye to the beloved WRC “black pants” and I will be stocking up on the new bloom pants (The ones I am wearing in the handstand image)
I also LOVED the multicolor print top as well. It was a different material and did not have a built in sports bra like the other 2. I actually prefer that but, again, this is just my opinion and what I feel most comfortable in. It was super soft, thin, and really flowy. It had more stretch to it as well. It had bold stitching and a slit just over the thigh on the left leg. You could tie it up to make it cute or let it hang loose. It was really easy to move in and extremely comfortable. I wore it with the black long pants. I LOVE bright colors so I probably would have paired this top with a cute pair of colorful leggings (which I know they have as part of the line…it just wasn’t in my box). I can’t wait to go buy them when bloom launches. The weather was a little ominous so this picture really doesn’t do this shirt justice. I love the picture though. Isn’t my photographer amazing!!! Check him out at icanstoptime.com. His name is Brandon S. Warren. His work is phenomenal!! You can find him on Facebook and Instagram as well. I highly encourage you to just go and check out his images. They would make some really great art work for decor or prints for commercial work.
The bloom line will be launching in early September and I am SO SO SO EXCITED to be a part of it. Pinch me. Is this real? Check out @sportsauthority on all of your social media sites.
