FIT TIP: Have you ever really sat and thought about how much food you are actually eating…EVEN if it is clean? Yes, You can eat a a salad for lunch and consume your entire daily caloric intake in one sitting. Portion control is EVERYTHING and all to often it is just a mind trick that we play with ourselves.We eat off a HUGE plate so when we fill it up with the proper portions it appears to be so little food. Put the same proper portions on a smaller plate and it appears to be a lot of food. Same goes with the utensils you use. If you use a smaller utensil then you will be taking more bites and chewing more which triggers your brain to tell your body that it is full more quickly.Try it out. Even if it means you go and buy yourself a smaller plate and set of utensils. You can buy them at the dollar store if you are worried about cost. You will be amazed by how much less you will have to eat to feel full but you will actually be eating a more perfectly portioned meal. If you are someone who usually eats HUGE portions…Give this a try for a week and train your body and your brain to eat proper portions.
