GRAPEFRUIT!!!

GRAPEFRUIT!!! This is one of my favorite mid morning snacks. I eat every 2 hours and grapefruit is perfect. You know what is FUNNY though?

 

When I first started this whole healthy lifestyle, I had a coach. She helped me learn what to eat and when. I HATED like GAGGED when I tried to eat it, grapefruit. I hated veggies and fruit. Like not a single one.

 

I also hated sweet potatoes and squash. I ate terrible. She said there really wasn’t a better alternative to the grapefruit & to give it a chance. I would get used to it, she said. For 2 weeks, I choked it down. I made horrible ugly faces. I whined like a toddler. Such a baby. It took me almost 2 hours to eat the whole thing.

 

I tried lots of ways to make it taste better. Nothing worked. Then one day, I just woke up and wanted a grapefruit. Now, I crave them. I sprinkle a little pinch of stevia on top or cinnamon. YUMMY!

 

It actually helps to create a sense of fullness. I usually have a 1/2 cup of Greek yogurt as well topped with unsweetened coconut. Grapefruits have a ton of vitamin C and help increase the body’s metabolic rate. There are Sooo many benefits to grapefruits and it would take all day to list them all.

 

Have you had your grapefruit today? Lol.
