JUST SAY NO TO THE SCALE!!! The scale does not tell the whole story. It does it determine what you look like or how you feel but it can take away your joy and your “feel good” and you motivation and drive if you let it.
So here’s the thing. I HATE scales. I don’t own one. We are visiting family and they had one. The last time I weighed myself was at the doctors office before the holidays last year…and I faced backwards. I don’t care what I weigh. It’s how I feel that matters. I struggle with that number because in the past I let it control me. I was told I was to big or too fat many times and was benched from NFL (not Redskins) games because of my weight. So scales are just not my friend.
Today I decided to step in it. I am the leanest I have been in a while with a little added fluff from traveling. And I am about 7 lbs HEAVIER than I was the last time I weighed myself and I was absolutely bigger and “fatter” (but I wasn’t fat) than I am now. I was told multiple times since I arrived home that I am “too skinny” or “so small”. So its crazy that I weigh MORE since the last time I have seen them. I know this truth and that its all muscle. But many people don’t understand that muscle will make you heavier than lighter.
Sooooo…it just goes to show that the scale is a LIER!!! Hide it. Get rid of it. Ditch it. Give it to a friend or a neighbor. You don’t need it. Rely on how you feel and your measurements and pictures to help you decide which way you weight loss/maintenance journey is going to go. Don’t let the number tell you that you aren’t making progress, as long as you are trying. And if you feel great, your clothes fit better, and you are happy with the work you are putting in…keep going. If your not. Work harder. Make a commitment to yourself to do YOUR best and measure your progress on that.
Who wants to guess who much I weigh? I am 5 ft 6 in tall. Lol…have fun!
