Think those cookies with concentrated fruit juice instead of white sugar are healthier?? Isn’t brown sugar better than white? NOPE. Sugar is sugar. It hides under alias names in labels.
Labels that CLAIM to have “no sugar” added or “containers only natural sugars”…those are often trigger words that should make you flip over that package and read the ingredients. There is a chemical sweetener in there somewhere to make it taste sweet. They trick you.
So unless you made the apple sauce at home or it does NOT have sugars added (look on the ingredients list…not the marketing on the package) it is not healthier.
If you spot any of these words on the ingredients list…It contains sugar. There are a few on this list that are okay but only if it is RAW or like Maple Syrup and Honey. Maple syrup is different from Maple sugar and honey is different than raw local honey.
