The warm up was short no fuss get your blood flowing to your muscles warm up. The moves are pretty basic moves that you expect a trainer at the gym to throw at you so I was getting a pretty intense butt whooping. Things like squat shoulder press, renegade row, plank crunches, etc. My muscles were shaking/shoulders burning from the very first set on the first round. Me personally…I love that feeling because I know I am working. I was sweating at 8 minutes in.
I love that Autumn was not easy on you this time around. She pushes you with the same encouragement and doesn’t let you slack off or cheat yourself. She reminds you where your emphasis and focus should be as well as how to hold your form.
My heart rate was rising naturally yet I didn’t feel like I was going to pass out and I could still breathe. If you are a cardio junkie…this may not give you that same high but it will get you the results. I personally DESPISE CARDIO…yeah, don’t put me down for cardio. Lol. I prefer weighted cardio.
The modifier was available but not quite like in the original. This time you can modify by simply shortening the range of motion or using little to no weight. The same goes in reverse. You can challenge yourself more by using heavier weight.
This is exactly how I I would expect to be pushed or how I would weight train for a competition minus the bench work…but that may even be in there as I only sampled ONE workout. I am sure it is, only without the bench. But I have one so I can modify that part to make it work with a bar.
I personally feel this is an EXCELLENT WORKOUT to follow up the original. It is NOT for a beginner. Not to say that a beginner couldn’t push themselves to do it but it is more intense and Autumn will push you harder. She adds more components to the moves you do in the original. If you have an event to get to or just want to look your best…this is a great way to get that in just 21 days.
